July 6, 2012

Amelia woke up very early this morning, so Ricky took her for a little bike ride while it was still a little cool.  Her preschool is right around the corner from us and she really enjoyed riding her bike to school last year.
RE was trying to keep cool during Amelia's swimming lessons.  He is signed up for a class too, but refuses to go in.
Davy enjoying some snacks while waiting for Amelia.  You can see his little fang on the upper right side if you look closely.
On Fridays, we have a little playgroup that meets at the church.  This is one of RE's best friends.
Shelly gave us these train tracks a while ago and they get used daily.  We really like coming up with different designs.  The tricky part is making sure "the giant baby monster" (Davy") isn't around to destroy it.  RE is actually driving a cement mixer in this picture.
Ricky was trying to clean out some gutters and the kids went out to help him.
Afterwards, they did a little exercise. Here they are trying to do some push ups.
Stretching while your brother is pushing you is not that easy.
Girls getting ready for bed.  I feel so blessed to have 3 such wonderful kids.  They make me so happy!

July 5, 2012

RE was spinning around and singing and (surprise) he crashed his face into the hard side of the couch.  After he stopped crying I told him to just lay down and relax for a few minutes.  Amelia wanted him to feel better so she brought him a toy and laid down next to him.  She can be so sweet somtimes.
On the bars.  She loves her teacher Miss GiGi.
They kind of monkey crawl across the top bar and Miss GiGi tries to get them to hang on as long as they can.  But then she pretends to tickle them to see if they can hold on longer.
At the end of class, they always get a few minutes to run through the obstacle course.
She is completing a somersault here.
Tonight was my first piano recital.  There was 7 other kids playing.  I think I did ok for only having a few months of lessons.  I played Tumbalaika and Now Let Us Rejoice.
Ricky has been so supportive of my piano lessons.  He gives me time to practice and always encourages me.  Davy was a little tired after an hour of people playing piano.  RE snuck into Dallin's video while he was playing.  Amelia was so tired from Gymnastics and swimming that she went to sleep before we even started and slept through all the noise.

4th of July

We started the day off with a delicious pancake breakfast at the park with our ward.  It rained all night and was perfectly overcast for the breakfast.  What a blessing to not be scorching in the heat as usual!
The kids had fun running around and playing games.  This is one of our future babysitters.  RE was still a little tired because we had to wake him up to go to the park.  He usually sleeps in.
They spent most of their time "fishing" for prizes.

RE's favorite person in the whole world!
When papi got home from work, the monsoon hit.  It was pouring!  After it died down, Amelia went outside to play.  It's not every day an Arizona kid gets to see rain!  The humidity has been making her little curls come out more.

Our good friends invited us over for a delicous dinner and fireworks.  We also did a presidents quiz which was very fun!  They were kinds enough to have sparklers for the kids.  RE did 2 or 3 sparklers, but that was it.
Amelia did about 20!  She kept asking for the fireworks that go "boom"!  Sorry, maybe next year.
Davy was very content watching others do the sparklers.
With mommy.  What a fun day!  We are so grateful to live in America!  Happy Birthday!

Here's Davy walking.
Davy is 11 months old today and walking strong!  The top right tooth broke through today.  Davy is aobut 20 pounds right now.  He loves to snuggle and he loves his bobo.
Davy is crazy in the bath, it is very hard to wash him because he moves around so much.  These brothers love each other even though they look so different!
Sweet RE boy. I had the freezer open and he pointed to something and said it was "poison" but he meant "frozen".  While Amelia was at activity day, we played with Finn and went to story time at the library.
Taking a break from wrestiling with papi.
Just being silly girls.  Amelia is doing a little activity day with some of her friends on Tuesdays.  Each mom takes a turn hosting.  Today they did fourth of July activities.  They made a painting of fireworks by blowing the paint with a straw.  She has so much fun with her friends.  Amelia was having a little problem and Ricky told her to pray to Heavenly Father for help.  She did and things have gotten a lot better.  She recognizes that Heavenly Father and Jesus will help us with anything we need.

July 2, 2012

Amelia loves to paint, color with markers and write letters.  She likes to play with her dollhouse and her fancy dress up shoes.  Our neighbor Miss Helen (who is 90) gave her a little stuffed dog last week.  She named it Petey and loves to play with it. She loves to sing songs she knows and songs she makes up.  We were at target the other day and she was combining a few primary songs and singing loudly, but most people thought it was cute.
Our camera is slow and it is hard to catch RE when he says cheese, but he smiles a lot.  He is 2.  He loves to make messes and is very active.  He was a very calm baby so this is kind of new for us.  I know he is not as crazy as some boys, but he's always crashing, bashing, running, spinning, etc.  We love him so much.
Davy loves to open his mouth wide!  He really loves his papi. Ricky has Sundays off this month and we are so grateful.

Open mouth again.  Davy is into everything.  He is eating a lot more food now.  He only nurses 3 times a day and we'll be done with that in one month.  No solid words yet, a little, ma, ma, da, da.  Despite this, he knows how to make himself heard.
Reading books before bed sometimes turns into a wrestling match.  Sometimes they are really good friends.  We were all walking to the pool yesterday and RE and Amelia were holding hands talking about the sun and the moon.  It is so funny to listen to their conversations when they're not screaming at each other.

July 1, 2012

Davy is walking/running like crazy.  He'll be 11 months on the 3rd, it's hard to believe he's almost one!  We shaved off his curls to keep him cool in the heat, hopefully they'll grow back fast.  His eyes are still blue and I don't think they are going to change.  He has 5 teeth and 3 more on the way.
I'm busy with being a mom and working in young womens.  I started piano lessons recently and I am really enjoying that.  We have a lot of projects that need done with the house, but we're taking that slow.  Hopefully, we can get Amelia's room painted this summer.
RE is growing up fast.  He fell back on the entertainment center last week and cut his head.  He had to get one staple, the joys of having a boy!  He has been enduring swim lessons, but couldn't do it last week because of his head.  He loves nursery and his nursery teacher.  He loves playing with cars and trains.
Amelia has been doing really well with swimming lessons, she even went off the low diving board.  She started gymnastics and is loving it!  She also does an activity day with her friends on Tuesdays for the summer.  She loves to have her "reading lesson" every day and is making a lot of progress.

Ricky is working, working, working.  After work, he comes home and plays with the kids, it's their favorite part of the day.  We are trying to speak spanish when he his home.  Two months until our trip to PR!

Fifth day of preschool

RE doing laundry.

Amelia started preschool on August 15, but due to being busy, we didn't get pictures until her fifth day. She loved school from day 1 and has not had any problems going. There are only 6 kids, a few are 4 and a few are 3, which I think has helped her to really learn more than I ever taught her in our coop.
